wstfgl it is saddening to want to flail about multiple things on here but have no one to flail to because nobody on the immediate internets has seen what you want to flail about.

I think this may be one of the very few times when real life provides more of a fannish outlet than the internet does. Inexplicable!

I was going to make a brief little post about how anime seems to have something against characters retaining all their limbs, and I started counting up all the total limbs lost I'd seen so far, but then I realized ten of them were from Full Metal Alchemist, and I had to take a moment to sit back and blink.

Okay, so. I understand that obviously the characters in Full Metal Alchemist wouldn't have had any idea, what with being in an alternate history and all, but were there ever any fans who even remotely suspected that a charismatic military leader named the Fuhrer wouldn't turn out to be rather dubious?
